What they need

CTE (Compliance Training & Engineering) is looking for an experienced Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) Technician to join our Brisbane Projects and Operations team. This is a central, hands-on coordination role that keeps our projects moving seamlessly from engineering design through to final handover.

CTE is a specialist provider of engineering, compliance, and training services within the heavy industrial sector across Australia and Asia Pacific. Our clients span oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, and infrastructure operations. As we continue to grow, we need a sharp coordinator to keep our projects running at the absolute standard our clients expect.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager/ P&E Lead and based out of our Geebung (Brisbane) office, you will be the vital link between field operations, subcontractors, engineers, and our valued clients.

You will manage scheduling, procurement, installation, commissioning, and documentation, across multiple concurrent projects -ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to our strict quality and regulatory standards.

This role is built for someone who thrives on detail, knows their way around a hazardous area verification dossier, and can hold a project together under pressure.

  • Financial & Procurement Support: Assisting with project cost tracking, purchase orders, materials tracking, variations, and progress claims.

  • Safety Leadership: Active liaison with site teams to foster, lead, and develop a safe working culture across all projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Licensing: A current Australian Electrical Work Licence

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical project coordination, site supervision, or similar leadership roles within the heavy industrial electrical sector.

  • Standards Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of Australian and New Zealand electrical standards (including AS/NZS 3000).

  • Hazardous Areas: Formal EEHA / Hazardous Area (Ex) competencies and experience managing inspections, rectifications, installations & Hazardous Area Dossiers.

  • Project Execution: Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and concurrent projects within tight timeframes and budgets.

  • Compliance & Safety: Current QLD Driver’s Licence, Construction White Card, and Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)/CPR certifications (or the ability to obtain them).

  • Travel: Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally if required to perform FAT inspections.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications: A Certificate IV or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, or Engineering.

  • Industry Exposure: Direct experience working in oil & gas, chemical processing, mining, or other heavy industrial sectors.
