EHS Assistant

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Supports the implementation and monitoring of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within the workplace. The position assists in identifying hazards, conducting safety inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in identifying safety needs and preparing high-risk work assessments
• Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain records for safety facilities, PPE, and safety signages
• Support the Safety and Pollution Control Officer in health and safety monitoring activities
• Assist in inspecting workplaces and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Ensure work areas conform to organizational procedures and safety policies
• Monitor proper storage and handling of hazardous waste materials in designated storage areas
• Assist in the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, analyze causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Support compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety Management System (EHSMS) policies and procedures
• Inspect interior and exterior work areas to identify potential safety and environmental hazards

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or any related course
• With at least 2 years of experience in EHS, safety, or pollution control in oil milling industry is an advantage
• Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards and environmental regulations
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and prepare reports
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
• Willing to work on-site and conduct field inspections
