EHS Engineer/Safety Officer (Biñan Plant)

Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a EHS Engineer/Safety Officer.

The Plant OSHE Engineer is under the supervision of the Plant Manager and functionally reporting to Corporate OSHE Officer. He/She ensures that Safety and Environmental Management Systems and operational control measures are effectively implemented in the plant.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

A. General

• Spearheads the establishment, implementation and continual improvement of Safety and Environmental Management Systems mandated by the Company.
• Initiates the completion of CARES (risk assessment) and ensures that the assessment is up to date.
• Acts as the Liaison Officer between the plant and regulatory agencies.
• Monitors the Plant’s operations, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with health, safety and environment regulations.
• Assists in the conduct of accident/incident investigation, recommends corrective actions and monitors the implementation of plans.
• Validates 3rd Party compliance with the company’s health, safety and environment requirements.
• Monitors the Plant’s compliance with applicable legal and other requirements and tracks the implementation of action plans to improve regulatory compliance.
• Prepares and submits applicable regulatory reports and other reports mandated by the Company.
• Ensures the effective implementation of OSHE training plans.
• Develops and recommends improvement plans/initiatives for water, energy and solid wastes.
• Develops OSHE programs, guidelines, procedures and/or policies.
• Assists government representatives during their visit in the plant.
• Conducts fire and other emergency drills at the required frequency.
• Ensures that hazardous works are done on a safe manner through routine verification of the workplace.
• Spearheads the conduct of monthly OSHE meeting and inspection.
• Attends to OSHE related meetings required by government agencies and the Company.
• Ensures that all permits and licenses are valid and conditions are fully adhered to.
• Applies permit renewal as scheduled and whenever necessary.

What are the Qualifications?

• College graduate (Preferably Licensed Engineer)
• At least 3-years' experience in related field
• With training on Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH)
• Accredited Pollution Control Officer
• With basic knowledge on wastewater operations
