What they need
Kronospan is a world-leading producer of wood-based panel products - including particleboard, MDF, OSB and laminate flooring - supplying materials used across furniture, flooring, construction and timber-framed buildings worldwide. Operational excellence, safety and sustainability sit at the heart of everything we do.
We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Graduate to join our Environment, Health & Safety team at our Chirk, Wrexham site. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across waste management, environmental compliance and site auditing within a fast-paced, global manufacturing business. The role will focus mainly on supporting waste collections and administration, alongside wider EHS duties.
Coordinate and support scheduled waste collections across site, working closely with contractors and internal departments
Carry out internal waste audits, weekly waste ticket reviews and waste sampling, helping to drive continuous improvement in waste segregation and minimisation
Support environmental monitoring activities, including borehole dip readings, quarterly residue sampling
Assist with the weekly environmental audit checker and support wider EHS audits and site inspections
Help prepare monthly KPI reports and maintain accurate environmental records
Support the investigation and response to noise, odour and dust complaints from the public and regulators
Provide general administrative support to the EHS team, along with other ad-hoc duties as required
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related technical/scientific discipline (candidates from other disciplines with a genuine interest in environmental compliance and waste management will also be considered)
No prior work experience required - full training will be provided
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Well organised, with strong attention to detail
Good communication skills, comfortable liaising with contractors, regulators and members of the public
A full UK driving licence is beneficial
What we offer:
- Competitive graduate salary
- Structured on-the-job training and development within a global business
- The opportunity to build a career in environmental, health & safety or sustainability within the wood panel manufacturing industry
- A supportive team environment at our Chirk site
