EHS Technician

About the role

This role involves conducting inspections and monitoring facilities and work areas within a manufacturing environment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and facility conditions are maintained at required standards. You will implement safety activities, manage scheduled waste, maintain records, and perform minor repair and maintenance work on factory facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and monitor the condition of facilities and work areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and facility conditions are maintained at the required standards
• Implement 5S activities to ensure work areas are clean, organized, and well maintained
• Manage Scheduled Waste, including collection, weighing, recording, and storage in accordance with established procedures
• Conduct periodic inspections of fire-fighting equipment to ensure proper condition and placement
• Conduct inspections and monitor First Aid Boxes to ensure adequate supplies are available and maintained for use
• Monitor and maintain records of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) activities in accordance with established requirements
• Assist in the implementation of EHS activities and programs
• Perform cleaning activities for facilities and factory areas as required
• Carry out minor repair and maintenance work on factory facilities to ensure they remain in good working condition
• Recognize and report safety hazards and early reporting of work-related pain/injury

About you

• Minimum qualification of OSH-C, SSS, SHO, Environmental (CePSWaM), or other relevant certification
• Experience in EHS within the manufacturing industry is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Workplace Inspection, 5S, Scheduled Waste, Fire Safety, First Aid, and Safety Inspection
• Able to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and recommend appropriate control measures
• Good communication skills and confidence to address safety issues professionally
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office and EHS documentation
• Proactive, responsible, disciplined, and possesses good integrity
• Willing to work in a factory environment and perform fieldwork
• Basic repair and maintenance skills are an advantage
• Able to communicate effectively in both Bahasa Malaysia and English
