What they need

Job title: eLearning Coordinator

Contract: 12-month fixed term, full time, with potential to become permanent

About the role

We’re looking for an eLearning Coordinator to join our small eLearning team in the Education Directorate.

RCEMLearning is our online learning platform, where emergency medicine clinicians build their skills and knowledge. It now hosts more than 2,000 items, including clinical cases, exam-style content, blogs and podcasts, and it keeps growing. Much of the content is written by clinicians themselves, and every piece is reviewed every three years to keep it current. That volume has outgrown our current team, so this is a new role created to bring extra organisation and quality control.

Your main focus will be new content submissions. You’ll check that each one is complete, follows our guidance and is ready for review, then move it through the editorial process. You won’t assess the clinical content. Your job is to make sure everything around it is right, which frees our other team member to focus on the three-yearly reviews.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing new submissions as they arrive through our online forms, and checking they’re complete and follow our templates and author guidance
  • Running quality checks, including plagiarism screening and confirming that images are properly licensed and usable (for example, not AI-generated)
  • Going back to authors clearly and politely when something is missing or needs work
  • Tracking content through review in Trello, and matching submissions with our editor groups for clinical cases, exam content, blogs and podcasts
  • Managing the RCEMLearning inbox and helping members with account access and navigation
  • Maintaining the Full Content Record, supporting curriculum mapping, and carrying out page audits and hyperlink checks
  • Producing routine analytics and reports on engagement and content performance

What you’ll bring

You don’t need an eLearning or education background. Experience from university administration, or any role managing queries and records in a customer- or member-facing setting, would translate well.

Essential

  • Administrative, coordination or operational support experience in a professional environment
  • Experience maintaining records, databases or content management systems
  • Experience handling enquiries and providing customer or member support
  • Strong attention to detail. You’ll spot what’s missing and won’t let it through.
  • Clear, tactful written communication. Our authors are busy clinicians, so you’ll need to be precise and persistent while staying polite.
  • The ability to prioritise a steady flow of work independently
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams

Desirable

  • Experience in an eLearning, education, membership or healthcare setting
  • Experience with a CMS or LMS, or supporting website content
  • Experience with reporting or performance data
  • Familiarity with Trello or similar workflow tools
  • An understanding of QA and governance processes, plagiarism detection, copyright or image licensing

Why join us

This is a new role in a close-knit team, with a real say in how our content quality processes take shape. Your work will directly support the professional development of emergency medicine clinicians. We offer a hybrid pattern of five office days a month, which you’ll spend working alongside the team.

Our values are respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation. We’re committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds.
