Driving requirement? No

Start Date: Oct 23, 2026, after required training on Oct 22. Position ends Nov 3, 2026**.**

Summary: You’ll staff a nonpartisan “Voter Help / Ayuda para votar” table outside a polling place during early voting and on Election Day. You’ll help voters get answers and connect them to the right resources. You’ll also keep an accurate written record of what happens at your site. Every voter gets the same help, regardless of who or what they support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Voter Navigation:

  • Greeting voters and answering common questions about hours, ID requirements, where to vote, mail ballots, and provisional ballots
  • Helping Caldwell County voters confirm their assigned Election Day precinct
  • Handing out hotline, mail-ballot, and provisional-ballot cure cards in English and Spanish
  • Referring voters with problems to the election protection hotline and notifying your Field Manager
  • Providing help in Spanish where able, or connecting voters to a Spanish-speaking teammate or the hotline

Documentation:

  • Logging every voter interaction on the shift tally sheet
  • Following the Documentation Protocol for any possible incident: written notes first, recording who, what, when, and where, and collecting witness statements when appropriate
  • Recording any instruction to move or leave: the time, who gave it, and what was said
  • Completing a written closeout at the end of each shift and sending it to your Field Manager

Site Operations and Safety:

  • Arriving 15 minutes before your shift to check in with your Field Manager and inspect your supply kit
  • Setting up and taking down the table, canopy, and signs outside the 100-foot marker without blocking the voter line or entrance
  • Sending scheduled check-ins to your Field Manager, including hourly check-ins at solo sites
  • Following heat and break procedures and reporting any safety concern right away

Nonpartisan Conduct:

  • Never supporting or opposing any candidate, party, or ballot measure while working. This covers speech, clothing, materials, and social media posts made while on shift
  • Never entering the 100-foot zone or polling place while on duty, except to cast your own vote
  • Complying politely if anyone asks you to move, documenting it, and calling your Field Manager
  • Not photographing or recording voters or the polling place entrance
  • Other duties as assigned
