Electrical and Controls Engineer

About the role

Fyfe is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer in our Infrastructure Team based in Melbourne to provide concept design through to detailed design, procurement support, construction assistance and commissioning support. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and check electrical and control system deliverables including single line diagrams, network architecture drawings, I/O schedules, cable schedules, loop drawings, termination drawings, panel layouts, datasheets and bills of material
• Support LV design activities including cable sizing, cable containment sizing, reticulation diagrams, generator sizing and electrical load inputs
• Use engineering design tools such as Elecdes where required to produce consistent drawings and schedules
• Prepare clear technical inputs for design reports, specifications and design review packs
• Develop instrumentation and control design packages for water, wastewater, mining and industrial facilities
• Coordinate controls requirements with process, mechanical and operations stakeholders
• Support or prepare engineering studies such as arc flash, EMI and EMF assessments where assigned
• Contribute to Safety in Design reviews, HAZOP, CHAZOP, constructability reviews and close-out of discipline actions
• Identify design risks early and communicate clear mitigation actions
• Deliver assigned work packages to agreed scope, schedule and budget

About you

• Proven experience in Medium Voltage/Low Voltage electrical design
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards
• Demonstrated experience in I&C design
• Confidence contributing across all project phases, from concept and schematic design through to detailed delivery
• Experience in working on complex infrastructure projects is highly regarded
• Collaborative approach and clear communication style when working with engineers, clients and consultants
