Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

About the role

Join MediSun Energy as an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer and support the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems for hydroelectric and renewable energy projects, industrial process facilities, and advanced electrochemical technology applications. You will provide technical leadership to ensure systems are reliable, efficient, and compliant with applicable safety and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, technical review, and implementation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Provide technical guidance throughout project execution to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system performance.
• Prepare, review, and interpret electrical schematics, Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, control philosophies, and related engineering documentation.
• Ensure documentation complies with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Serve as the technical authority for E&I engineering during design reviews, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical evaluations.
• Identify technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of PLC, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
• Support the integration of control systems with mechanical, process, and electrical equipment.
• Specify and evaluate electrical and instrumentation equipment, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), circuit breakers, protection systems, sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and other critical components.
• Work closely with mechanical, process, and project engineering teams to ensure successful multidisciplinary project delivery.

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), industrial instrumentation, sensors, and control system architecture.
• Ability to prepare Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), instrument datasheets, instrument hook-up drawings, wiring diagrams, and related engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Committed to engineering excellence, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
• Business-level proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Experience in hydroelectric power, renewable energy, water treatment or desalination, industrial process plants, or power generation is highly preferred.
