About the role

Microvit Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Electrical & Maintenance professional to join our engineering team in Gelang Patah, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our electrical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of electrical infrastructure, contributing directly to the smooth operation of our manufacturing and production facilities. This role is essential to maintaining our operational excellence and supporting our strategic objectives in the electrical and electronic engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance for factory facilities and production equipment
• Hands-on experience with 415V 3-phase electrical systems, wiring and electrical panels
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines
• Troubleshoot CNC machine electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and related systems
• Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance according to schedule
• Respond to machine breakdowns and minimize production downtime
• Maintain maintenance records, checklists and breakdown reports
• Assist with installation, modification and improvement of factory equipment
• Ensure all maintenance work follows proper safety procedures

Requirements

• Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in factory electrical and maintenance work
• Good knowledge of 415V electrical systems, wiring, motors, contactors, sensors and control panels
• Experience in CNC machine maintenance and preventive maintenance is highly preferred
• Able to read electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshoot independently
• Knowledge of PLC, inverter/drive, pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be an advantage
• Responsible, hardworking and able to work independently
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree level)
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, switchgear, control systems, and power distribution
• Competency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeter, etc.)
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations relevant to Malaysia
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
• Physical capability to perform hands-on maintenance work in various industrial conditions
• Willingness to participate in continuous professional development and stay current with industry advancements
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or industrial automation systems would be advantageous
