Somatic MEP is looking for Apprentice Electricians to join our electrical division. We are experiencing fantastic growth, and want you to grow along with us.

Our projects currently range from commercial tenant improvements in offices, heritage buildings, banks, restaurants, government buildings, warehouses, and light industrial plants. We also specialise in fire alarm upgrades and replacements, HVAC controls, and have a well-established service division attending to our clientele.

The majority of our work is currently throughout the lower mainland, and often in the City of Vancouver.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the installation of electrical work
• Physical labour tasks such as moving equipment, pulling cable/wires, work off of ladders
• Perform quality installs
• Adhere to our company's safety regulations; ensure a safe and healthy work environment
• Maintain a high level of professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 6-months of hands-on commercial electrical experience, or completion of pre-apprenticeship program (required)
• Valid current registration with Service Trades BC
• Effective written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal skills
• Attention to safety, attitude for success and working toward having a mix of technical skills, work experience and academic skill
• Actively working towards completing your apprenticeship and attaining your red seal
• Service, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills an asset
• Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office an asset
• Able to work independently (with supervision) with good time management
• Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract and no restrictions, and your own personal hand tools (task specific power tools will be provided)

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Full Time
• 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
• Overtime available, project dependent
• Flexibility for evenings and weekends an asset (premium pay offered)

PAY RATE:

• $22.00 - $39.00/hr
