ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE

Position Summary:

Island Lighting & Power Systems, Inc. (ILP) is a leader in the design, installation and maintenance of complex electrical construction projects in the greater New England area. ILP is a family-owned business in its 34th year of operation. From medium/high voltage electrical work to sports field lighting installation to renewable energy projects our personnel, facility, equipment and capabilities are best in class. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Apprentice to join our team. The role requires knowledge and experience with electrical principles, procedures, materials, tools of the trade and safety standards governing medium voltage electrical systems in commercial and industrial applications.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Apprentice may include:

· Follow instructions and guidance provided by supervisors and management

· Assist in the installation and wiring of electrical components and equipment

· Develop and demonstrate an understanding of skills practiced and concepts taught

· Prepare and maintain safe work areas

· Maintain a positive attitude and interact respectfully with colleagues and customers

· Transport, carry and deliver materials

· Remain in compliance with the current National Electrical Code

Desired Qualifications:

· Minimum 1-2 years of commercial electrical experience

· OSHA 10 safety training certificate

· Proficiency and knowledge of hand tools

· Ability to lift 60lbs

· Comfortable working on ladders or lifts

· Valid driver’s license

· Possess pride in workmanship

· Basic experience with understanding electrical diagrams and blueprints

· High school diploma or GED certificate

Compensation

· Commensurate with experience

· Generally, $25-$28/hour
