Electrical Apprentice

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair across commercial and industrial projects. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced electricians to learn industry best practices, adhere to safety protocols, and gain comprehensive knowledge of electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring techniques. This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to build a solid foundation in electrical work while contributing to high-quality construction and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support project execution.
• Use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to test electrical circuits and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Bend conduit accurately according to specifications for safe and efficient wiring runs.
• Perform electrical wiring tasks including connecting wires, installing outlets, switches, panels, and lighting fixtures.
• Follow all electrical safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites.
• Support the installation of low voltage systems and ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.

Requirements

• Prior experience or familiarity with industrial or commercial electrician work is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematic reading, blueprint interpretation, and electrical blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment safely.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
• Construction site experience is advantageous; familiarity with framing carpentry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills related to electrical systems installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while following detailed instructions from senior electricians.
