Electrical Apprentice/ Journeyman

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman to join our dynamic electrical team. Duties

• Assist in installing and wiring industrial and commercial electrical systems according to electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on various electrical systems using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults or inefficiencies.
• Support the installation of high-voltage wiring in compliance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association code for electrical safety).
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance procedures.
• Follow all electrical safety procedures including proper lockout/tagout protocols, PPE usage, and adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Assist in performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on industrial and commercial electrical systems across construction sites or renovation projects.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for wiring, conduit bending, mounting fixtures, and other electrical tasks.
• Support the team during construction or renovation projects by performing framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed to facilitate electrical work.

Skills

• Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician or apprentice with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance standards along with local electrical codes for safe installation practices.
• Skilled in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting complex issues within various systems including low voltage controls and high-voltage wiring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, technical diagrams, and blueprints accurately.
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with installation techniques for industrial electrical systems in construction or renovation environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures including lockout/tagout protocols and PPE requirements.
• Capable of using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools like drills; and testing equipment safely.
• Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety standards; additional skills in framing carpentry or general handyman work are a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
