Electrical Apprentice (Mines)

We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our experienced, close-knit team in Dunedin, this role will be mostly be located at Macraes Gold Mine.

About the Role

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will be provided with training and opportunities to work within the industrial electrical trade. Your role will include maintenance and project work, the standard work week at the mine is 5 x 10 hour days including travel, but you would be required to be fairly flexible with work hours and be willing to work a few longer days if required

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and testing
• Running cables, installing fittings, and assisting with wiring and terminations
• Helping diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults under appropriate supervision
• Reading and working from electrical plans and job specifications
• Using electrical tools and testing equipment safely and correctly
• Working alongside qualified electricians and other team members on site
• Uphold Aotea’s commitment to Health & Safety and AS/NZS standards
• General housekeeping and assisting with maintaining a clean, tidy and safe site

What We’re Looking For

• Either a new starter or a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice
• Full NZ driver licence and reliable transport
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Reliable, motivated, and keen to continue learning
• Able to communicate well and fit into a small, close-knit team
