Electrical Apprentice/Journeyman

Job Summary

Elite Fire Protection is looking for candidates to join our Electrical Division based out of Abbotsford. Jobs are located all over the Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver. Electricians are responsible for field service and retrofit jobs such as, but not limited to, trouble shooting and installing fire alarm systems, verifications, and inspections. Apprentices will have opportunities to build practical skills under a journeyman. Candidates should be prepared to work independently within their qualifications and applicable licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or perform electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, on Fire Protection Equipment such as Fire Alarm Panels, Devices, Exit Sign and Suppression Systems.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely to install, connect, and service electrical components.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.
• Apply blueprint reading skills to understand layouts, measurements, and installation requirements.
• Support low-voltage system installation and service as assigned.
• Follow job-site safety procedures, applicable electrical codes, and instructions from supervisors.

• Must be a good communicator / oral / written and able to work with a small team
• The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, have good problem-solving skills and have a great attitude
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and consistent in filing reports
