Electrical Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Assistant to join SW GREEN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD in a full-time capacity based in Menggatal, Sabah. This role is instrumental in supporting our electrical engineering operations and contributing to our commitment to sustainable energy solutions. As an Electrical Assistant, you will work alongside experienced engineers to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of electrical systems and installations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a growing renewable energy company.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting qualified electricians and electrical engineers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
• Conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical components and installations to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Preparing and organising work areas, tools, and materials required for electrical projects
• Supporting the troubleshooting and diagnostic work on electrical faults and system malfunctions
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of electrical work completed and materials used
• Assisting in the implementation of health and safety procedures on site
• Performing cable routing, conduit installation, and wiring tasks under supervision
• Supporting the testing and commissioning of electrical installations and renewable energy systems
• Contributing to the safe disposal and recycling of electrical waste materials
• Liaising with site managers and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification in electrical engineering, electrical installation, or a related field (diploma or certificate level)
• Basic understanding of electrical theory, circuits, and safety principles
• Experience working as an electrical assistant or in a similar apprenticeship role within the electrical or renewable energy sector
• Proficiency in using standard electrical tools and testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety compliance
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Physical fitness to perform tasks that may involve working at heights or in confined spaces
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to work
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills throughout your career
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems or green energy technologies (preferred)
