Position Overview:

The Electrical BIM Technician will be a vital part of our team, supporting electrical design and model coordination for diverse construction and infrastructure projects. This role involves creating and managing BIM models, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in model coordination meetings to ensure seamless project integration.

The position requires proficiency in HV/LV electrical design and expertise in tools like Revit. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic and growing team.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Create and manage accurate 2D and 3D electrical BIM models using Revit.
2. Support the electrical design of HV and LV systems, including primary and secondary schematic development.
3. Coordinate BIM models across multiple disciplines within a federated environment.
4. Lead model coordination meetings, identify and resolve design clashes (e.g., using Navisworks or equivalent tools).
5. Communicate effectively with engineering and design teams to meet project timelines.
6. Contribute to workflow improvements, including potential use of automation or scripting tools.

Required qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) to perform essential functions of this position:

1. Proficient in Revit.
2. Experience in electrical design. Work with instrumentation valued
3. Strong understanding of HV and LV systems, including primary/secondary schematics.
4. Experience working with or contributing to federated BIM models and using common data environments (CDEs).
5. Confident leading and contributing to model coordination meetings.
6. Strong time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Work Experience:

1. Familiarity with modelling in Revit.
2. BIM execution planning.
3. Experience in electrical and instrumentation technologies at a commercial and/or industrial level.

Education/Training:

1. Diploma or equivalent in construction related field preferred.
2. Certifications in CAD/BIM software and BIM processes (preferred but not essential).

Specialized Knowledge - Certificates & Licenses

1. As outlined in the Core Competencies, an individual must have thorough knowledge and an advanced understanding of each competency outlined above in order to carry out the essential functions of this position.

Software & Technology:

1. Experience using Navisworks or similar coordination tools.
2. Exposure to or interest in scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Dynamo, VBA).
3. High level skills in basic office tools including MS Office applications, document management tools, issue tracking systems.

Work Environment:

This is a global position and is generally office based with an expectation of frequent remote communications with our global team members. Working longer days including evenings and weekends may be required for this position. Traveling for business may be required from time to time.
