Electrical BIM Modeler

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D Electrical BIM models using Revit MEP.

• Prepare electrical layouts and coordinated models based on approved design drawings and specifications.

• Model and coordinate:

  • Lighting and emergency lighting systems
  • Small power systems
  • MDB, SMDB and DB layouts
  • Cable trays, trunking and conduits
  • Electrical equipment and containment
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Low-current systems where required

• Prepare BIM models, shop drawings, sections, details, and coordinated layouts.

• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks Manage.

• Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Architectural, and Structural disciplines.

• Review and resolve clashes and discrepancies before site execution.

• Incorporate consultant comments and update BIM models accordingly.

• Prepare coordinated drawings and documentation for consultant approval and construction.

• Support the BIM Coordinator/Engineer during coordination meetings.

• Assist with RFI, technical submissions, and as-built BIM models.

• Ensure models comply with project BIM standards, naming conventions, LOD requirements, and BEP.

• Coordinate with Engineers, Draftsmen, BIM Coordinators, Consultants, and site teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/MEP Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Electrical BIM experience.
• Consultant experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of electrical MEP systems and BIM coordination.
• Experience with high-rise buildings, villas, commercial and residential projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience preferred.
• Good understanding of MEP coordination, clash detection, and construction drawings.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
