Electrical Chargeman

About the role

Eng Hong Palm Oil Mill Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Electrical Chargeman to join our operations team in Banting, Selangor. This is a full-time position based on-site at our palm oil mill facility. As Electrical Chargeman, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical systems, maintenance, and safety compliance within the mill operations. This is a critical role that ensures the continuity and safety of our production processes, directly contributing to the mill's operational efficiency and adherence to electrical safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all electrical installations, systems, and equipment within the palm oil mill facility
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, transformers, motors, and control panels
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime to production operations
• Supervise junior electrical technicians and apprentices, providing guidance and on-the-job training
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies
• Maintain comprehensive records of all electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Plan and coordinate electrical maintenance schedules in line with production requirements
• Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues and implement corrective measures
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and external contractors for major electrical works
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent electrical hazards

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical qualification
• Minimum 5–7 years' experience as an Electrical Technician or in a similar electrical maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Valid electrical certification and competency credentials recognised in Malaysia
• Chargeman Certificate by suruhanjaya A0,A1,A4
• Proven experience with three-phase electrical systems, industrial motors, control systems, and power distribution
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, regulations, and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical problems
• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays if required
• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces when necessary
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools
