Electrical Commissioning Engineer

I’m working with a rapidly scaling company that is building next-generation data center capacity at unprecedented scale. They are looking for a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of commissioning complex, mission-critical electrical systems.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, solving complex problems, and being hands-on with commissioning from utility interface through the rack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical commissioning from utility interface through rack , including MV/HV, switchgear, UPS, generators, and EPMS.
• Develop and execute commissioning procedures and test scripts from Level 2–5 .
• Lead integrated systems testing, including utility failures, transfer schemes, protection systems, and full-load scenarios.
• Oversee NETA testing, vendor startups, and verify test results.
• Perform load-bank testing at MW scale .
• Review one-lines, protection studies, coordination curves, and identify design issues before they impact the project.
• Help develop commissioning standards and processes across multiple large-scale data center deployments.

Ideal Background:

• Proven experience commissioning mission-critical/data center electrical systems .
• Experience with pull-the-plug / failure scenario testing.
• Strong understanding of electrical one-lines, protection, and coordination studies.
• Experience with MW-scale load-bank testing .
• Comfortable holding vendors and contractors accountable to testing standards.
• MV/HV, EPMS, and protective relay experience highly preferred.
• PE license is a plus.
