Overview

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join DAMAC Digital and play a critical role in delivering some of the region's newest hyperscale and AI-ready data centres.

Commissioning is the final and most important stage before a facility goes live. It ensures every electrical system performs exactly as designed, not only under normal operating conditions, but also during failures and emergency scenarios.

In this role, you'll take ownership of the commissioning lifecycle from design review through testing, validation and final handover, helping ensure our facilities are delivered safely, reliably and to the highest industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Basis of Design (BOD), Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), method statements and commissioning checklists.
• Lead commissioning reviews throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through construction and handover.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures and testing strategies for data centre electrical systems.
• Prepare and review Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning scripts, test procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate closely with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure commissioning activities remain on schedule.
• Supervise and witness testing activities across electrical, mechanical, controls and integrated building systems.
• Conduct functional and performance testing to validate system operation, efficiency, capacity and resilience.
• Lead failure scenario testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to verify operational readiness under real-world conditions.
• Support Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF) activities and authority inspections where required.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues while driving timely closure of defects and corrective actions.
• Ensure complete and accurate handover documentation is delivered to Operations and end users.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience across electrical engineering, construction, commissioning and project delivery.
• Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience within data centre environments.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure and data centre electrical systems.
• Experience commissioning MV and LV distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, protective relays and associated equipment.
• Hands-on experience conducting Short Circuit Coordination Studies for MV and LV systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices including NETA, IEC, IEEE and relevant local regulations.
• Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues in high-pressure project environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating contractors, consultants, customers and internal teams.
• Experience leading commissioning activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Industry certifications such as Uptime ATD, CDCP, CDCS, or equivalent data centre certifications are highly regarded.
