Electrical Commissioning Technician

We're looking for an Electrical Commissioning Technician to join our team, supporting projects across the Americas. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in electrical systems, switchgear and commissioning who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers and being part of a team delivering essential power infrastructure.

You'll work alongside electrical commissioning engineers, clients, suppliers and third-party commissioning teams to help ensure critical power equipment is installed, tested and commissioned safely and to the required standards.

Role:

• Supporting electrical commissioning projects across the Americas.
• Attending client commissioning meetings and coordinating site activities.
• Providing technical support to clients and third-party commissioning teams.
• Supporting installation verification, equipment start-ups, testing and commissioning.
• Working with switchgear, Remote Power Panels (RPPs) and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
• Helping troubleshoot technical issues and close out commissioning punch-list items.
• Coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and site personnel to keep projects moving.
• Preparing accurate commissioning documentation, reports and equipment records.
• Working with clients to obtain approval for activities involving live facilities.
• Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Identifying recurring issues, documenting lessons learned and working with engineering teams to improve equipment and processes.
• Providing on-call customer support for critical power product lines when required.

Requirements:

• 2–3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent technical training, ideally within electrical systems, switchgear or critical power.
• A good understanding of electrical theory, control circuits and electrical safety.
• Experience with electrical power systems and commissioning in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with switchgear, RPPs and PDUs.
• The ability to carry out installation verification, equipment start-ups and commissioning activities.
• Confidence reading electrical wiring diagrams and ladder logic.
• An understanding of Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, engineers and site teams.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks and priorities independently.
• A proactive, reliable approach and a willingness to travel to customer sites.

Additional experience with Modbus TCP/RTU, Industrial Ethernet, Microsoft Office 365, and PDF tools such as Adobe or Bluebeam would be an advantage.

Certifications & Requirements

• NFPA 70 certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel as required across the Americas.
