Electrical / Control Panel Draftsman

Job Summary:

The Electrical Control Panel Draftsman is responsible for designing and drafting electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for control systems used in industrial automation, machinery, or building services. This role supports electrical engineers and project teams in developing accurate technical drawings and documentation necessary for panel fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings including:

o Control panel layouts

o Single-line diagrams

o Wiring diagrams

o Terminal diagrams

o Cable schedules

• Use CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar to develop drawings per project specifications.

• Interpret electrical engineering designs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications to create accurate drafts.

• Generate and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and panel assembly documents.

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, NEC).

• Coordinate with electrical engineers, project managers, and workshop teams to incorporate feedback and revisions.

• Provide technical support during panel manufacturing and assembly.

• Maintain drawing archives and revision records for all projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in control panel design.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar drafting software.

• Good understanding of electrical components, including PLCs, VFDs, relays, breakers, and wiring standards.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and wiring methods.

• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and schematics.

• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
