Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an electrical design engineer who develops and maintains electrical systems, equipment, and components. Their duties include creating designs, troubleshooting issues, performing tests, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with other teams to bring projects from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical devices, products, systems, and components, applying principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Analyze project requirements, system capacities, and costs to develop system plans and conduct detailed calculations to establish standards
• Inspect, test, and evaluate the reliability and safety of electrical products and systems to ensure they meet specifications and codes
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes, and oversee the production of electrical equipment
• Ensure all designs and systems comply with industry standards and regulations, and conduct risk assessments
• Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems and equipment, and recommend repairs or design modifications
• Estimate material, labor, and construction costs
• Write reports, compile data, and create documentation
• Collaborate with other engineers, clients, contractors, and project managers
