Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Solar Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing solar photovoltaic (PV) systemsfor residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The position requires hands-on experience in grid-connected solar system design, electrical calculations, technical drawings, and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design on-grid/grid-connected solar PV systems based on client requirements and site conditions.
• Prepare PV system layouts, electrical designs, Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), and equipment specifications.
• Perform system sizing, load analysis, energy yield calculations, and inverter/string configuration.
• Design and select appropriate solar modules, inverters, protection devices, cables, and other electrical components.
• Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar software.
• Conduct and/or support site assessments for solar PV projects.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Procurement, and Installation teams.
• Review electrical and structural requirements for on-grid PV installations.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Philippine Electrical Code, safety standards, and utility/interconnection requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and presentations for clients and EPC partners.
• Provide technical support during project implementation and resolve design-related issues.
• Review and verify engineering drawings and calculations before project submission.
• Perform other engineering duties related to solar PV projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
• Preferably a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
• At least 2–3 years of experience in solar PV design, with actual on-grid/grid-connected solar experience.
• Experience with commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects is highly preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and solar design software such as PVsyst or Helioscope.
• Knowledge of grid-connected PV systems, electrical protection, inverter systems, and interconnection requirements.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to conduct site visits and travel when required.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience designing on-grid rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Experience preparing SLDs, PV layouts, string configurations, BOMs, and electrical calculations.
• Familiarity with utility interconnection/net-metering requirements.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, clients, suppliers, and installation teams.

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
