Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support long-term engineering modification projects at a commercial nuclear generating facility. This individual will play a key role in evaluating, designing, and implementing plant modifications while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong power systems experience, a background working in highly regulated environments, and the ability to support complex plant upgrades from concept through implementation. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting critical infrastructure projects at an operating nuclear facility. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on major plant modernization and reliability initiatives while joining a team of experienced engineering professionals. Responsibilities Lead and support electrical engineering modification projects from concept through implementation. Conduct plant walkdowns, field investigations, and equipment verification activities. Develop engineering change packages and supporting technical documentation. Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and technical evaluations. Support modifications involving transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, electrical buses, protective relays, and other power distribution equipment. Collaborate closely with mechanical, civil, instrumentation & controls, operations, maintenance, and planning organizations. Review design documents, drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation. Provide support for projects that typically span 12-18 months in duration. Become qualified on site-specific engineering processes and procedures before independently managing projects. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable regulatory, safety, and engineering requirements.
