Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

We're hiring a Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer for an international architecture, engineering, and BIM services organization supporting residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across international markets.

This position involves designing internal and external electrical power supply systems, preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

We are looking for an electrical engineering professional with hands-on design experience, strong AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit proficiency, and the ability to independently deliver accurate technical work.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Electrical Power Supply Design

• Design low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including distribution boards, panels, and cable distribution.
• Prepare designs for lighting, power outlets, emergency lighting, and UPS systems.
• Develop standby power systems, including generator connections and automatic transfer switches.
• Design earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Prepare electrical layouts, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and cable schedules.

External Electrical Power Supply Design

• Design external power supply systems, including medium- and high-voltage networks, substations, and transformer connections.
• Develop layouts for overhead and underground electrical networks, switching stations, and metering points.
• Prepare cable routing plans, schematic diagrams, connection details, and related technical documentation.

Electrical Design and BIM Coordination

• Prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD.
• Develop, update, and coordinate electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Perform electrical load calculations and support short-circuit analysis and protection coordination.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Update technical documentation based on design revisions and coordination feedback.
• Participate in technical coordination meetings with international project teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Proven professional experience designing internal and/or external electrical power supply systems.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical engineering drawings and documentation is required.
• Hands-on proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical/MEP BIM modeling and documentation is required.
• Knowledge of internal low-voltage distribution systems and/or external medium- and high-voltage power supply networks.
• Ability to prepare electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of electrical load analysis, short-circuit calculations, and protection coordination.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer in the Philippines.
• Experience with international electrical engineering projects.
• Familiarity with IEC, NEC, or other international electrical standards.
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Experience using electrical calculation and network analysis software.
• Exposure to fire alarm systems, building automation, renewable energy, or EV charging infrastructure.

Work Arrangement

This position will initially be offered as a full-time independent contractor engagement while the organization establishes its local Philippine entity. The role will be remote for approximately the first three months, with an expected transition to on-site work in Metro Manila beginning around the fourth month.

Candidates should be based in or near Metro Manila or be willing and able to relocate or report on-site once the local office is established.
