Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of renewable energy and power infrastructure projects, including BESS, Solar PV, Wind and MV/HV substations. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will produce electrical designs, undertake technical studies, support project delivery and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs and drawings using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
• Develop SLDs, cable schedules, schematics and earthing layouts.
• Carry out electrical studies including cable sizing, load flow, short circuit, protection coordination and earthing analysis.
• Use software such as PowerFactory, ETAP and ELEK.
• Review contractor and supplier designs for technical compliance.
• Support site surveys, testing and commissioning activities.
• Assist with tendering, equipment specification and procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with UK electrical standards and industry regulations.
• Mentor graduate engineers where required.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' electrical design experience.
• Experience in renewable energy projects, BESS, Solar PV, Wind or MV/HV substations.
• Knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations.
• Experience with some of the following: PowerFactory, ETAP, ELEK, CYMCAP and EPLAN.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

• AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVcase or PV*SOL experience.
• IET membership or working towards IEng/CEng.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Pay: £36,000.00-£51,000.00 per year
