Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading international engineering company based in Bucharest. The firm delivers complex infrastructure and industrial projects across Europe, with a strong focus on water treatment, civil works, hydraulics, energy, and automation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects and collaborate with expert teams using advanced digital tools.

In this role, you will handle the design and preparation of technical documentation for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across all project phases.

The position requires advanced electrical design expertise: cable and equipment sizing, earthing and lightning protection, Power & Distribution, Automation, Instrumentation & SCADA, PLC/SCADA hardware configuration, SCADA architectures, and logic flow diagrams. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, support commissioning activities, and ensure full compliance with quality and industry standards.

Role Details: On-site position in Bucharest (Pipera area, 5 minutes from the metro station).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical, automation, instrumentation, and control systems for industrial installations
• Prepare technical documentation for bidding, design, and execution phases
• Collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, process, and hydraulic engineering departments
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle and assist with commissioning
• Ensure strict adherence to technical standards, internal procedures, and project deadlines
• Coordinate with subcontractors to meet delivery schedules and quality benchmarks
• Manage, update, and maintain AS-Built documentation and traceability
• Willingness to undertake occasional short site visits (domestic and international)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial electrical design
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; working knowledge of EPLAN, CANECO, or REVIT is a strong advantage
• Background in industrial automation is a plus
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
• Proactive mindset, strong ownership, initiative, and excellent organizational skills
