Electrical Design Engineer

Pay Rate: $65.00/hr to $70.00/hr

Location: Milpitas, CA

Duration: 3-month contract with potential extension based on performance and project needs

Schedule: 100% onsite, 5 days per week

Work environment: Primarily electrical lab environment (approximately 80%), occasional cleanroom exposure

Travel: Approximately 20-25% potential travel, primarily to Singapore and occasionally China if required (Estimated travel during the 3-month assignment could be one to two weeks total.)

Travel may be required for:

Testing boards on fixtures located in Singapore.

Supporting suppliers with repair processes.

Transferring knowledge and troubleshooting methodologies.

Required:

• Mixed-signal circuit analysis experience
• Reverse engineering expertise
• Board bring-up experience
• Strong troubleshooting background
• Ability to create clear repair documentation and procedures

Job Description:

• Strong expertise in PCBA design analysis, reverse engineering, and diagnosis/troubleshooting to address our repair goals.

Candidate should be capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting defective boards, with or without relevant design documentation.

• Skilled at developing comprehensive board repair plans—including approaches, timelines, and identifying technical dependencies.

• Applying critical thinking to troubleshoot PCBA issues without design documents

• Proficient in using PCB troubleshooting equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers

• Work with minimum guidance

• Good track record of on time delivery

• Candidate should be willing to travel for escalations. Primarily Singapore and China

• Attitude to persevere through tough challenges

• Good understanding on Power supplies and electrical systems will be a plus

It’s important that they can work effectively with both junior and senior-level team members, bringing in a collaborative environment

• communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders

• Experience Level is 15 to 20 years with minimum Bachelors degree
