Electrical Design Engineer

Work cross-functionally with development groups as well as lead within the Electronics Engineering team.

• Lead technical personnel (such as other engineers, engineering technicians, designers and drafters) in the preparation of detailed designs, testing of designs and fabrication of prototypes in order to meet product and schedule requirements.
• Work with Marketing, R&D, Quality, Purchasing, Documentation and Manufacturing.
• Analyze, recommend, and develop design approaches required to meet Marketing, Production and cost requirements for new or improved products.
• Perform detailed design of complex electronic circuits and systems to meet product specifications.
• Evaluate various designs and manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and recommended solutions. Develop design philosophies that satisfy interrelated aspects of product design.
• Integration of electronics into other aspects of products including software, mechanics and user interface.
• the creation and release to Manufacturing of Engineering documentation.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering during the pilot run and initial production run of new products to ensure effective transition from Engineering to Production.
• Initiate vendor contacts and assist purchasing in vendor evaluation and selection for tooling, fabricated parts and purchased parts.
• Participate as an independent reviewer in EE design review of complex systems and circuits.
• Document electronics including generating schematics, assembly drawings, procedures, timing diagrams and operational descriptions.
• Perform electronic experimental tests and evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BSEE (Advanced degree MSEE preferred) or equivalent and eight (8) years of relevant electronic design experience including one (1) year of project management preferred.
• Understanding of the interactions of multifaceted technology, i.e., mechanics, software, optics and human factors.
• High level design capabilities with both analog and digital circuits.
• Proficient with programmable logic, embedded microprocessor integration and high-speed interfaces.
• Proficient in developing system level architecture.
• Entire product lifecycle development from requirement to product Launch.
• Design process, Digital design, EMI/EMC, Safety, High speed board design, Motor control/precision motion, Noise , Light source, Regulatory
• Knowledge of mentor graphics tools.

The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 to $1,32,500 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
