You will bring a hands-on approach, sound technical judgement and the ability to visualise a complete solution—turning concepts and schematics into equipment that meets customer needs and can be built efficiently.

Why join Pepperl+Fuchs?

Working with a Global professional organisation, the opportunities and professional growth will ensure a rewarding and successful career at Pepperl+Fuchs.

What you will do

  • Prepare detailed general arrangement drawings, electrical schematics diagrams, heat dissipation, machining details and bills of materials using AutoCAD and relevant engineering systems.
  • Interpret customer specifications, IECEx certificates and approved design documentation to select suitable enclosures, components and configurations.
  • Check electrical ratings, heat dissipation, component spacing, cable entries, earthing and other requirements relevant to the certified design.
  • Create complete bill of materials in the ERP per customer approved drawings.
  • Manage drawing submissions, customer comments and revisions, and issue complete, checked documentation for production.
  • Resolve technical queries on the factory floor and support inspection, factory acceptance testing and final documentation.
  • Identify requests outside the approved design scope and work with the responsible engineering and compliance personnel to resolve them.

What you will bring

  • A degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline, with practical electrical design and manufacturing documentation experience.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills and experience with electrical assemblies and electrical panels for hazardous area installations.
  • Working knowledge of IECEx certification and Ex d and Ex e protection concepts, including the ability to interpret certificate limitations and approved drawings.
  • Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules, AS/NZS 61439 Australian/New Zealand standard for low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies and relevant AS/NZS 60079 hazardous area standards, with the ability to apply these requirements alongside IECEx certificates and approved manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience interpreting and applying ATEX and UL/cUL hazardous location certification requirements would be highly regarded.
  • Sound knowledge of component selection, wiring, protection, earthing and mechanical layout, supported by careful checking and document control.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects, balancing various activities and competing demands.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as the strong propensity to support production.
  • Clear communication, practical problem-solving and the ability to manage several orders and agreed delivery dates.
