About the Opportunity

We are working with an established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy looking to strengthen its Electrical Engineering teams across Texas.

The business delivers a wide range of building engineering projects and is looking for hands-on Electrical Engineers who enjoy the technical design and production side of the industry.

This opportunity would suit a licensed Professional Engineer who wants to remain heavily involved in electrical design, rather than move into a predominantly managerial or business development position.

With multiple office locations across Texas, there is flexibility around where candidates can be based, provided they are within commuting distance of an office.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical engineering designs and construction documentation for building projects.
• Design power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, emergency power and associated electrical systems.
• Develop electrical drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Work through schematic design, design development and construction documentation phases.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment sizing and electrical system studies.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, architectural and other engineering disciplines.
• Utilise Revit and AutoCAD to support project design and delivery.
• Review technical submissions and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Work closely with project teams to deliver accurate, coordinated designs.

Requirements

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence, ideally in Texas.
• Experience in electrical building systems design within an MEP consulting engineering environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of power distribution, lighting and applicable electrical codes.
• Experience producing electrical design documentation and calculations.
• Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Comfortable remaining hands-on with engineering design and production.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule from a Texas office.
