Electrical Designer I

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Project Manager and Senior Engineers to complete electrical design tasks, calculations, and drawings.
• Manage key aspects of electrical design for assigned projects.
• Take responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of design work.
• Lead or support the electrical design team based on project requirements.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Prepare and participate in design reviews.
• Design LV switchboards, sub-main cabling, power distribution, and cable containment systems.
• Design power distribution for mechanical and public health equipment.
• Design earthing and bonding systems.
• Design lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, and lightning protection systems.
• Prepare electrical calculations, including load calculations, wire sizing, and voltage drop calculations.
• Prepare single-line diagrams and riser diagrams.
• Prepare panel schedules and electrical layouts.
• Prepare enlarged room plans and sections where required.
• Maintain proper project records and documentation.
• Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design and engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience working on US-based projects.
• Good understanding of electrical codes, standards, and design practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
