Electrical Designer/Drafter – Full Time

WDG | Architects Engineers is seeking a full-time Electrical Designer/Drafter for our New Orleans office.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Designer/Drafter supports a range of responsibilities related to electrical design, project development, construction documentation, and coordination with other design professionals. This position works closely with project engineers and the broader design team and reports to the Project Engineer and Engineering Director.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design team to develop electrical design concepts and construction documents.
• Assist in preparing detailed engineering drawings and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy, adherence to company and industry standards, and timely completion.
• Work closely with project engineers and other team members to coordinate project activities, incorporate design changes, and maintain alignment with project goals and schedules.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project communications as needed.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with other building disciplines and support the successful execution of projects.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge:

• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD software is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate construction documents.

Requirements:

• Degree from an accredited institution or trade school
• Minimum of one (1) year of professional in electrical design or commercial building design is preferred.

Salary:

• Salary is commensurate with experience.
