Job Description – Electrical Draftsman

Position: Electrical Draftsman
Experience: 2–5 Years
Location: Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings for building and MEP projects.
• Prepare electrical layouts for lighting, power, small power, cable trays, conduits and equipment.
• Prepare and update Single Line Diagrams (SLD), panel layouts, DB schedules and cable schedules.
• Prepare electrical drawings based on design specifications and engineering requirements.
• Develop drawings using AutoCAD and maintain proper drawing standards.
• Prepare electrical layouts for MDB, SMDB, DBs, LT panels, transformer, DG and UPS.
• Incorporate design changes and revise drawings as per project requirements.
• Coordinate electrical drawings with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Civil, Structural and Architectural drawings.
• Perform drawing checking, dimensioning, annotations and detailing.
• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings and construction drawings.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project standards.
• Support design engineers and site/execution teams with drawing-related clarifications.

Required Skills

• AutoCAD – Mandatory
• Good knowledge of building electrical/MEP drawings.
• Understanding of lighting, power distribution, cable trays, conduits and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and understand electrical SLDs and design drawings.
• Knowledge of MDB, SMDB, DB, LT panels, DG, UPS and earthing layouts.
• Revit MEP/BIM – Preferred
• Knowledge of Navisworks and MEP coordination is an advantage.
• Good drawing preparation, detailing and documentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in residential, commercial, hospital, hotel, infrastructure or other building construction projects are preferred.
