SUMMARY: n established engineering and industrial solutions business is seeking an experienced Electrical Draughtsman with strong EPLAN and 3D cable rack/cable tray design experience to join their engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate electrical drawings and 3D layouts for industrial projects, ensuring that designs comply with applicable engineering standards, project specifications and client requirements.

POSITION INFO: An established engineering and industrial solutions business is seeking an experienced Electrical Draughtsman with strong EPLAN and 3D cable rack/cable tray design experience to join their engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate electrical drawings and 3D layouts for industrial projects, ensuring that designs comply with applicable engineering standards, project specifications and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical drawings and documentation using EPLAN . Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control circuit drawings and panel layouts. Develop and maintain 3D electrical models , including cable racks, cable trays and associated support systems. Design and detail cable routing within industrial plant and equipment layouts. Prepare cable schedules, termination drawings, interconnection diagrams and equipment layouts. Produce GA drawings, panel layouts and electrical installation drawings . Integrate electrical designs with mechanical, structural and process layouts. Ensure correct routing, segregation and accessibility of power, control and instrumentation cabling. Interpret engineering specifications, single-line diagrams, equipment data sheets and project documentation. Update drawings in accordance with engineering changes and site requirements. Generate accurate manufacturing and construction drawings. Participate in design reviews and resolve drawing and technical queries. Assist engineers and project teams with electrical drafting and design requirements. Conduct drawing checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with project standards. Compile and maintain drawing registers and technical documentation. Incorporate as-built information following construction and commissioning activities. Minimum Requirements Relevant qualification in Electrical Draughting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field . 3-5+ years' experience as an Electrical Draughtsman in an industrial engineering environment. Strong practical experience using EPLAN . Demonstrated experience with 3D cable rack, cable tray and cable routing design . Good understanding of electrical schematics and industrial electrical installations. Experience producing electrical drawings for industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, mining, process plants or similar environments . Ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings and technical specifications. Good understanding of electrical drafting standards and drawing practices. Proficiency in relevant CAD/design software. Advantageous Experience Experience with EPLAN Electric P8 . Experience with EPLAN Pro Panel . Experience with AutoCAD and/or Plant 3D . Experience with 3D modelling of cable racks and cable trays . Knowledge of electrical panels, MCCs, DBs and control panels. Experience with cable schedules and termination documentation. Exposure to ETAP or other electrical engineering software. Experience within EPC/EPCM, mining, minerals processing, petrochemical, manufacturing or power projects . Knowledge of South African and international electrical standards.
