Electrical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Machine Electrical Maintenance

Maintain electrical systems of injection moulding machines, including motors, drives, heaters, thermocouples, sensors, solenoid valves, PLCs, contactors, relays and control panels.

2. Breakdown Maintenance

Attend electrical breakdowns quickly, identify root causes, restore machines safely and maintain breakdown records.

3. Preventive Maintenance

Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machines, MCC panels, electrical panels, transformers, compressors, pumps and other equipment.

4. PLC & Automation

Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs, HMI, servo drives, VFDs, proximity sensors, pressure/temperature sensors and machine communication systems.

5. Power Supply

Ensure stable power supply to injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment. Monitor voltage, current, power factor, harmonics and phase imbalance.

6. Energy Management

Monitor machine-wise electricity consumption, identify high-energy-consuming machines and implement energy-saving measures.

7. Electrical Safety

Ensure proper earthing, ELCB/RCCB protection, cable condition, panel safety, overload protection and compliance with electrical safety procedures.

8. Utilities

Maintain electrical systems for compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, dryers, material loaders, grinders and other utilities.

9. Spare Parts

Maintain critical electrical spares such as contactors, relays, MCBs/MCCBs, sensors, heaters, thermocouples, drives and PLC modules.

10. Documentation

Maintain electrical drawings, machine history cards, PM records, breakdown reports, spare-parts records and electrical inspection reports.

11. Installation & Commissioning

Supervise installation, wiring, testing and commissioning of new machines and auxiliary equipment.

12. Team Management

Guide electricians, allocate breakdown/PM jobs, monitor work quality and train technicians in troubleshooting and safety.

13. Coordination

Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Maintenance, Quality and external machine/electrical vendors.

14. Root Cause Analysis

Analyse repeated electrical failures and implement permanent corrective actions rather than repeated temporary repairs.

15. Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable electrical regulations, factory safety requirements and internal maintenance standards.
