Electrical Engineer

PURPOSE

• The Electrical Engineer position requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work closely with the Engineers to assist with the standardization of one or two products lines and develop best practices for Instrument and Electrical design.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work alongside Engineers to refine current Electrical Designs
• Mechanical 3D CAD design of components and systems (Enclosures)
• Modelling and simulation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Following specifications and calculations to create technical drawings and datasheets.
2. Provide drafting support to Horizontal Surface Pumping Systems (HSPS) Engineering in the design and modification of VSD’s, HSPS and ancillary equipment.
3. Must have the ability to take an idea from Engineering & produce working drawings for production.
4. Produce Electrical, P&ID’s, drawings & bills of materials for Orders of HSPS Units.
5. Provides support & service for small to medium electrical engineering projects.
6. Ensure that all electrical engineering documents and requisitions comply in company standards.
7. Implements process control improvements that requires electrical engineering disciplines.
8. Perform equipment test as per applicable procedures and specifications.
9. Maintaining safe working environment.
10. Providing electrical engineering support for other engineering disciplines.
11. Performs other functions as required.

QHSE Responsibilities

• Comply and Participate on Company QHSE Culture
• Assist with employees to ensure knowledge of all HSE standards and ensure compliance to all HSE manuals, policies and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure safety procedures are in place.

Other Responsibilities

COMPETENCIES:

Education Qualification

• Bachelor Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Mechanical Engineering or any other engineering related field with a minimum of 3-year experience.
• Technical degree from a technical college and 5 years of experience
• Experience in computer – aided design and drafting (CADD)

Skills and/or Experience:

• 3-5 Years of experience in the following:

  • Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s)
  • Process Engineering / Maintenance
  • PLC Programming
  • Electrical Design
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD

• Knowledge of documentation & auditing procedures in a manufacturing set-up.

• Experience in electro-mechanical designs and modifications used for assembly and process control engineering.

• Able to work multi-tasking jobs with min. supervision.

• Able to interface with a team.

• Able to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors, and exercise high quality of judgment.

INTERACTION

• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Departments.
