Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. The role involves ensuring that electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The Electrical Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support projects from concept through implementation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

• Design electrical systems, power distribution networks, and control systems.

• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Conduct load calculations, system analysis, and equipment selection.

• Develop engineering solutions to improve performance, reliability, and safety.

Project Management

• Participate in planning, budgeting, and execution of electrical projects.

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.

• Review and approve technical designs and project deliverables.

Installation and Maintenance

• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and system failures.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all electrical systems comply with local and international standards.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.

• Support health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

• Participate in inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.

• Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment inventories.

• Provide recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Professional License/Board Passer (Registered Electrical Engineer - REE) preferred.

Experience

Junior Electrical Engineer

• 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Electrical Engineer

• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, maintenance, or project engineering.

Senior Electrical Engineer

• 5+ years of progressive engineering experience.

• Experience leading projects and technical teams.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical power systems and distribution.

• Familiarity with transformers, switchgear, generators, and motor control centers.

• Understanding of electrical codes and standards.

• Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or similar engineering software.

• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Certifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer (REE)

• Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE)

• OSHA Safety Certification

• Project Management Certification (PMP) is an advantage

• Energy Management Certification is a plus
