Electrical Engineer

As Electrical Engineer, you will drive Engineering activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice. Educate, develop, and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement.

We offer onsite working from our Penrith site, on a 3 week rotating shift pattern (6-2, 2-10, 10-6) , a competitive salary, 25 days holiday with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days, 7.5% pension, Medicash Health Cash plan salary sacrifice scheme and opportunities to grow and develop your career.

Pay rates:

• Early Shift (6am–2pm): £23.29/hour
• Late Shift (2pm–10pm): £24.69/hour
• Night Shift (10pm–6am): £26.90/hour

Your Responsibilities

• Keep machinery in production
• Drive departments 5s campaigns and demonstrate 5s expansion as part of daily cadence
• Promote self-improvement
• Receive and issue permits to work and ensure engineering work is carried out to H&S, environmental and engineering standards
• Ensure Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance
• Support with the training and coaching with the apprentices
• Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HASSARD assessment
• Work to daily Standard Operating Procedures
• Establish improvement as a way of life
• Leverage best practice
• Encourage knowledge sharing across the site to accelerate improvements and benefits
• Supports Plant Managers and Leadership team to develop and deliver an engineering continuous improvement culture
• 3 shift system: Mornings, Afternoons & Nights

Your Skills And Experiences

• Practical experience of PLC fault finding is essential; Siemens and Mitsubishi are preferred but necessary training will be given
• A clear understanding of electrical systems with excellent fault diagnosis and ratification skills
• An understanding of mechanical systems is preferred, but not essential, necessary training will be given
• Basic IT Skills
• Experience of wiring systems and motor control devices
• 18th Edition qualification is desired, but not essential, necessary training will be given
