JOB DESCRIPTION – ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Job Purpose

Responsible for the electrical engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and site execution of Solar PV projects, ensuring compliance with approved designs, project specifications, Philippine statutory requirements, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute electrical works for Solar PV projects, including DC and AC systems.
• Review and implement electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
• Supervise installation of PV modules, inverters, DC/AC cables, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, earthing, and related electrical equipment.
• Monitor electrical installation activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Civil, Construction, HSE, QA/QC, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and consultants.
• Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, energization, and project handover activities.
• Identify and resolve electrical and site execution issues.
• Maintain inspection reports, test reports, as-built drawings, and other electrical project documentation.

Philippines Statutory & Regulatory Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical design and installation comply with the latest applicable Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and relevant electrical safety requirements.
• Ensure project electrical works comply with applicable Philippine Grid Code (PGC), Philippine Distribution Code (PDC), and other applicable ERC requirements.
• Coordinate with the relevant Distribution Utility (DU), NGCP, or other grid/interconnection authority, as applicable, for electrical interconnection, testing, inspection, and energization requirements.
• Support preparation and submission of technical documents required for ERC Certificate of Compliance (COC) / Provisional Authority to Operate (PAO), wherever applicable to the project. ERC's current requirements include PV-system documentation and technical plans/diagrams.
• Coordinate with the Office of the Building Official (OBO)/LGU for applicable electrical permits, inspections, and approvals.
• Ensure electrical installations meet applicable local permitting and inspection requirements before energization.
• Support compliance documentation related to DOE, ERC, LGU, DU/NGCP, and other applicable Philippine authorities.
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure required statutory approvals are obtained before relevant electrical construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain records of permits, approvals, inspection reports, test certificates, and statutory compliance documents for project handover and audits.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Solar PV electrical systems and EPC execution.
• Knowledge of PEC, PGC, PDC, electrical protection, earthing, cabling, and testing.
• Understanding of Philippine electrical permitting and grid-interconnection requirements.
• Strong site coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience: 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in Solar EPC / Renewable Energy projects, preferably with utility-scale solar project experience and exposure to Philippine projects or regulatory requirements

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php50,000.00 per month
