Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering professional with 10-15 years of hands-on experience, preferably from the mining sector or other heavy industrial
environments, to lead and support electrical engineering, maintenance, reliability and project
activities at our Mozambique operations.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to large-scale electrical systems, heavy
industrial equipment, mining operations, electrical maintenance, troubleshooting,
project execution and reliability improvement.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a remote / site-based industrial
environment, managing critical electrical infrastructure and working closely with cross-
functional teams to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & Maintenance
• Lead electrical engineering and maintenance activities across the site to ensure high
availability and reliability of critical equipment.

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical
  systems and equipment.
  Monitor electrical equipment health, identify recurring failures and drive root-cause
  analysis and corrective actions.
  Ensure reliable operation of electrical distribution systems, substations, transformers,
  switchgear, motors, drives and other critical electrical assets.
  Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability,
  availability and overall plant performance.
  Mining / Heavy Industrial Electrical Systems
  Manage electrical systems associated with heavy industrial and mining equipment.
  Work with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, substations,
  transformers, MCCs, switchgear and protection systems.
  Handle electrical systems associated with conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps,
  compressors, material-handling systems and other heavy equipment.
  Support electrical requirements for mobile and fixed mining/industrial equipment, as applicable.
  Ensure effective troubleshooting of electrical breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.
  Projects & Engineering
  Lead/participate in electrical engineering projects, equipment installation,
  commissioning and modification works.
  Review electrical designs, technical specifications, drawings and engineering
  documents.
  Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants and internal stakeholders for
  project execution.
  Support capacity enhancement, equipment upgrades, electrical system improvements
  and reliability projects.
  Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with technical, safety, quality, cost and
  schedule requirements.
  Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, energy efficiency and
  equipment availability.
  • Drive initiatives focused on reducing breakdowns, downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Analyze equipment failure trends and develop long-term corrective/preventive
  measures.
  • Establish and monitor key maintenance and reliability KPIs.
  Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards, statutory requirements and site
  safety procedures.
  • Ensure safe isolation, permit-to-work, LOTO and other electrical safety practices are
  followed.
  • Participate in safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the electrical engineering and maintenance
  team.
  People & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and guide electrical engineers, technicians, supervisors and contractors at site.
  Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution. Maintenance, Projects or Reliability.
• Strong preference for candidates with significant experience in mining operations. • Candidates from steel, metals, cement, power, heavy engineering or other largescale process/heavy industries may also be considered.
• Strong hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy industrial equipment. • Exposure to HT/LT systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, protection systems, motors, VFDs/drives and electrical distribution networks. • Experience in maintenance planning, preventive/predictive maintenance and breakdown management. • Exposure to commissioning, project execution and electrical system upgrades will be an advantage. • Experience working in remote/site-based industrial locations is preferred. • Strong understanding of electrical safety, statutory compliance and maintenance best practices. • Good analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills. • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
• This is a site-based international opportunity in Mozambique. Candidates should have a genuine willingness and ability to relocate to Mozambique and work in an operational / site environment. Candidates with prior international, mining-site or remote-location experience will be preferred.
