Electrical Engineer – Energex / Ergon Distribution Design

Ampflo is growing, and we’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane team.

For more than 22 years, Ampflo has provided electrical and telecommunications design services across Queensland. Today, we are one of Queensland’s largest Energex-rated electrical design consultancies, supporting developers, consultants, contractors and councils across projects ranging from residential subdivisions through to complex distribution network infrastructure.

With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth across our business, we’re looking for an engineer who has experience working with Energex and/or Ergon Energy distribution networks and wants to continue developing their technical and commercial capability.

The Role

You’ll work as part of our experienced design and project delivery team, delivering electrical infrastructure designs across a diverse range of projects throughout Queensland.

Your work may include:

• Energex and Ergon Energy distribution network designs
• Underground Residential Distribution (URD) designs
• Residential and commercial subdivision electrical reticulation
• Street lighting design
• Overhead and underground network design
• Large-lot subdivision and network augmentation projects
• Coordination with Energex, Ergon Energy, developers, civil consultants and other project stakeholders
• Supporting projects from early concept and feasibility through detailed design, approvals and construction

Depending on your experience, there will also be opportunities to work alongside our senior technical team on increasingly complex projects and broaden your capability across different areas of distribution design.

About You

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have experience with Energex and/or Ergon Energy distribution systems. Previous Queensland subdivision or URD design experience will be highly regarded.

Ideally, you will have:

• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in electrical distribution network design
• Energex and/or Ergon Energy design experience
• An understanding of Queensland electrical distribution standards and requirements
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to manage priorities and work effectively within a busy project environment
