What they need

We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, Texas. Our client is a U.S. industrial manufacturer operating at the forefront of the clean energy and advanced materials sector, developing a new greenfield high tech manufacturing facility to support the growing demand for electrification and domestic supply chain resilience.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (P.E. preferred) and bring 3+ years of experience in electrical design in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment. Also hold a strong foundation in medium-voltage systems, motor controls, grounding, and protective coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and development of both low and medium voltage electrical systems for new facility construction, process expansions, and equipment upgrades—from concept through commissioning and operation.
  • Create detailed electrical design documentation, including:
  • Single-line diagrams and schematics
  • Load and power distribution layouts
  • Grounding and lightning protection systems
  • Cable and conduit routing plans
  • Panel schedules and PLC/control panel layouts
  • Network diagrams and P&IDs
  • Reviewing and approving vendor and contractor submittals, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and electrical codes (NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, and NRTL guidelines).
  • Assist with power system studies including load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash assessments, and protective device coordination (e.g., SKM PowerTools).
  • Provide field engineering support during construction and commissioning, including RFI resolution and as-built verification.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets expectations for safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience of electrical design/reviewing control panels, distribution panels, and motor control systems working directly in the industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, transformers, switchgears, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and backup generators.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, NRTL, and UL standards.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process flow diagrams.
  • Commitment to safety, hazard awareness, and best practices in industrial environments.
