Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer II provides technical support for electrical systems, equipment reliability, and engineering projects at the Morenci, Arizona, site. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot electrical issues, improve equipment performance, and ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable electrical codes.

Primary Mission: Support safe and reliable electrical system operations through engineering analysis, troubleshooting, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for electrical power distribution systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues and support root cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with electrical design, technical specifications, equipment upgrades, and capital projects.
• Review electrical drawings, engineering calculations, and equipment documentation.
• Support equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and site procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, project updates, and engineering recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Typically 2–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• EIT certification and experience with electrical engineering software are preferred.

Work Environment

This position combines office-based engineering work with field activities in an industrial mining and processing environment. Compliance with site safety requirements and the ability to work around operating equipment are essential.
