Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities :

• Design electrical systems, circuits and components, including power distribution, control panels, wiring and PCB-level circuits as the role requires.
• Prepare and review schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts and bills of materials using CAD tools.
• Perform engineering calculations: load and power analysis, cable and breaker sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit and protection coordination.
• Select and specify components and equipment, and evaluate vendor quotes and technical submittals.
• Build, test and troubleshoot prototypes and installed systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
• Write test plans, technical reports, specifications and operating or maintenance documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA 70E) and company safety requirements.
• Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning and field service, and resolve technical issues on site when needed.
• Work with mechanical, firmware, procurement and quality teams to meet cost, schedule and performance targets.
• Take part in design reviews, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of products and processes.
• Manage engineering changes and keep drawings and records under revision control.

Equipment and utilities handled:

The engineer will operate, maintain and troubleshoot the following plant electrical and utility equipment, keeping downtime to a minimum.

• HT/LT panels: operation, maintenance and testing of HT and LT switchgear, VCBs, ACBs, MCCs, PCCs and APFC panels, including relay settings and protection checks.
• Transformers: routine and preventive maintenance, oil testing (BDV), IR and winding checks, and monitoring of load, temperature and oil levels.
• Breakdown maintenance: attend electrical and utility breakdowns promptly, find the root cause, restore operation and record corrective actions to prevent repeats.
• Air compressors: operation and maintenance of screw/reciprocating compressors, dryers and air receivers, including motor, starter and control panel faults.
• Cooling towers: maintenance of fans, motors, pumps and starters, with checks on water flow and temperature performance.
• DG sets: operation, synchronization and preventive maintenance of diesel generator sets, AMF panels and changeover systems, plus fuel and run-hour logs.
• Chillers: operation and maintenance of chiller units, compressors, condenser and chilled-water pumps and their electrical controls.
• HVAC systems: maintenance of AHUs, FCUs, ventilation fans, ducting controls and BMS interfaces to keep temperature and air quality within limits.
