Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical components, Bill of Materials (BOM), and engineering part data to support our engineering and production activities. This position is suitable for fresh graduates who are eager to learn and develop their engineering skills. On-the-job training and guidance will be provided. You will work closely with the Engineering, Procurement, & Production ensure accurate BOM information, proper component management, and up-to-date engineering documentation.

Key responsibilities

• BOM Management: Create, maintain, review, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical products.
• Part Management: Maintain electrical component databases, part numbers, specifications, manufacturer details, and approved vendor lists.
• Component Selection: Assist in identifying suitable electrical components based on technical specifications, cost, availability, and quality requirements.
• Engineering Change Management: Update BOMs and component records in accordance with engineering changes and revisions.
• Component Sourcing Support: Work with the Procurement team to check component availability, lead times, alternative parts, and obsolete component notifications.
• Data Accuracy: Ensure BOMs, drawings, datasheets, and engineering documents are accurate and up to date.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to resolve component-related issues.
• Cost and Risk Management: Support cost reduction, component standardization, and the identification of obsolete or high-risk components.
• Engineering Documentation: Maintain proper records of component specifications, datasheets, part revisions, and engineering changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical components, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with BOM management or electrical/electronic component management is an advantage but not compulsory.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, technical drawings, and component datasheets.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
• Positive attitude, responsible work ethic, and willingness to take on new challenges.
