Role Description:

Arcadis is looking for a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our semiconductor sector. This role will support the design and delivery of advanced manufacturing facilities with a strong focus on semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, tool install projects, and mission-critical electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for semiconductor or other advanced technology facilities and be comfortable supporting projects from concept through construction and commissioning.

This can be a remote opportunity for a selected individual with direct semiconductor and electrical design experience.

Role accountabilities:

  • Perform electrical engineering and design for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, tool install projects, laboratories, and advanced technology environments.
  • Design and develop electrical systems from concept through construction closeout, including construction drawings, specifications, calculations, load studies, and cost estimates.
  • Support tool install projects, including power distribution design, equipment connections, utility coordination, and integration of process tools within existing and new fab environments.
  • Perform electrical service calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, electrical distribution design, equipment sizing and selection, and grounding system design.
  • Design normal and emergency power systems, low-voltage distribution systems, lighting and lighting controls, and equipment power connections.
  • Coordinate electrical requirements with process, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, CSA, and equipment vendors to support semiconductor manufacturing operations.
  • Survey and assess existing facilities and electrical infrastructure to support brownfield expansions, tool installations, and facility upgrades.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, punch-list support, and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and produce electrical engineering models and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Prepare and edit electrical engineering reports, specifications, basis of design documents, and calculations.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and clients to deliver complex semiconductor projects.
  • Support fast-paced project execution schedules associated with fab expansions, tool moves, retrofits, and capacity increases.
  • Able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, fire-retardant clothing, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as required by client safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience designing building electrical systems within the A/E/C industry.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, advanced technology, microelectronics, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing facilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience with tool install projects, facility upgrades, brownfield modifications, or equipment integration in semiconductor manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), and applicable energy codes.
  • Experience with medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems preferred.
  • Fire alarm system design experience is a plus.
  • Telecommunications and low-voltage systems design experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strongly motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability while working independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
